Priority Application Deadline January 17th, 2017

The Access Center is pleased to invite you to apply to this year’s 2017 Bridge Scholars Program. This opportunity is made possible through an agreement between Colorado State University and The Access Center.  The Bridge Scholars Program allows students to enroll in college level classes for credit during the 8-week Summer Session while residing in a supportive, structured residential community prior to their fall enrollment.  Bridge Scholars benefit from a strong network of support and services from key campus offices and departments exposing them to a wide-array of campus resources to aid in their successful transition to college.  Also, students have access to special cultural, educational and recreational events sponsored and/or provided by the Bridge Scholars Program.

Selected students are required to participate in the entire 8-week Summer Session as well as attend the Bridge Scholars Information Session on Sunday, May 7th, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Opening/Move-In Day on Sunday June 11th, and two weekend activities.  Students have the option of staying on campus for most weekends or leaving after the last class on Friday’s but are required to return by Sunday’s at 6 p.m.

Students selected to participate in the program will receive a Bridge Scholars Program Grant Award worth up to $6,500.00 to cover the following costs:

Summer Session Tuition and Fees for six academic credit hours

Room and Board (including meals) in Corbett Hall

Miscellaneous Expenses (i.e. books and supplies)

Additionally, admitted students who will begin their enrollment at Colorado State University in the fall and who participate in and complete the summer Bridge Program will receive a Bridge Partnership Award in the amount of $12,500 ($2,500 per academic year). The exception will be for those students who have already received a Partnership Award (only one Partnership Award per student is allowed). Students receiving the Partnership Award will be asked to join either the Academic Advancement Center or the Key Communities Residential Learning Community.
