   Seattle College Study Tour

Program Highlights:  Current 9th, 10th, & 11th graders are invited to apply for our tour of Seattle colleges and universities. We will also be visiting local attractions and historical places.  The trip is tentatively scheduled for June 11-14.  Your payment of $400 is due in May and covers airfare, room, transportation, and three meals a day.  The selection process is competitive.  You must complete one essay as described below and have a cumulative or fall semester GPA of 3.2.  Students who have never been on a Talent Search College Tour will be given two extra points!  

How to Apply?  An important part of the college application is the “essay” or “personal statement.”  Please address one of the following topics below in an essay. All essays must be between 400-500 words, double spaced, 12 point font, with 1 inch margins.   If you run into technical difficulties, please e mail your essay to lucia.delgado@colostate.edu.  

Applications are due Thursday, December 8th by 4pm.

Late Applications will not be accepted!!

Please choose one of the following essay topics to write about:

 

1. Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?

 

2. Describe a problem you have solved or a problem you would like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma - anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took to could be taken to identify a solution.
